Vacuum Forming

Vacuum forming originates from the 1930’s and yet it remains increasingly relevant today.

It is a simplified version of thermoforming, where a sheet of plastic is heated to a forming temperature, stretched onto a single-surface mold, and forced against the mold by a vacuum. This process can be used to form plastic into permanent objects.

No alternative process can match the low cost, ease of tooling, efficiency and speed of replication.

We have a number of different sizes of machines including probably the longest vacuum former in the UK at 4610 mm x 1610 mm x 620 mm deep.

Combining this with new technologies such as 3D printing for tool design, thermo-formable ink technology and In-Mould Decoration bring new possibilities.
